Educator & Instructional Designer
Emily Schatzel is an educator bilingual in English and Portuguese and conversational in Spanish who is interested in aiding learners cognitively, socially, and emotionally through engaging activities. She has been in the education field for seven years during which she has developed a curriculum on social-emotional learning, visual and performing arts, digital reading, digital writing, teaching English as a foreign language and more.
She is experienced in incorporating gamification, MBE (Mind Brain Education), PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies) as well as ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) strategies into designing learning experiences that stick for a diverse group of learners. She has used interpersonal skills to manage students and adults inside the classroom and on the playground at K-12 schools across California.

A mix of working in K-8 education for six years, completion of a Bachelors Degree in Global Studies from UC Santa Barbara and the completion of a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of San Diego, Emily is well-equipped to work in a collaborative environment to design activities, assignments and assessments meeting the needs of a diverse group of learners.
